Oh boy--my first novel is out in print this month, and that is a thrill. It has also been exhausting, okay. My friends Kay & Linda threw a book release party for me in San Francisco. That was really fun. But I sold, on average, 3 books a day in the novel's first month out. Not exactly Amazon bestseller numbers, but hey, the year is young!
I'm trying to get smarter about social networking, using the internet, etc. Though I take the greatest heart in knowing that my novel is being read (the good old fashioned way) by a couple of fabulous, well-known, much-lauded Canadian authors--Farley Mowat and Joseph Boyden. If you don't know about them, you ought to look them both up...
More about me and the book: www.gabypress.com Little preview: the novel is a (barely) fictionalized account of social, economic, cultural and political change in Arctic Canada in the twentieth century. Meet the Inuit people in Nunavut--Canada's newest territory (1/5 of Canada's landmass), created as a result of the biggest aboriginal land claims settlement in history.
Thanks for reading! Yeah fiction.
